Getting started

Pick your platform for exact steps. Getting MTN/Airtel credentials works the same way regardless.

  1. After purchase, download the WooCommerce zip from your confirmation page.
  2. In WordPress admin: Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin, choose the zip, Install Now, then Activate.
  3. Go to WooCommerce > Settings > Payments and open MTN Mobile Money and/or Airtel Money.
  4. For MTN: sign up at momodeveloper.mtn.com, subscribe to the Collections product, then use the plugin's built-in "Generate sandbox API User + Key" button — no manual Postman/curl work needed.
  5. For Airtel: request a Client ID / Client Secret from developers.airtel.africa — no self-serve sandbox provisioning, this step is manual on their side.
  6. Paste in your license key (optional — see pricing below), leave Environment on Sandbox, and place a test order to confirm the flow end to end.
  7. Once confirmed, switch Environment to Production and enter your live credentials from each provider's own merchant approval process.
  1. After purchase, download the PrestaShop zip from your confirmation page.
  2. In the back office: Modules > Module Manager > Upload a module, and select the zip.
  3. Find "Payconda — MTN MoMo & Airtel Money" in the module list (Payments category) and click Configure.
  4. You'll see two panels, one per provider — enable whichever you want (they can both run at once, as two separate payment options at checkout).
  5. For MTN: enter your Subscription Key / API User / API Key from momodeveloper.mtn.com. For Airtel: enter your Client ID / Client Secret from developers.airtel.africa.
  6. Leave Environment on Sandbox, optionally paste your license key, save, and place a test order to confirm checkout end to end.
  7. Once confirmed, switch Environment to Production on each panel and enter your live credentials.
  1. After purchase, download the OpenCart .ocmod.zip from your confirmation page.
  2. In the admin: Extensions > Installer, upload the zip.
  3. Go to Extensions > Payments, find "Payconda — MTN Mobile Money" and/or "Payconda — Airtel Money", and click the green Install button on each you want to use — they install and configure independently.
  4. Click Edit on the one you installed: set Status to Enabled, Environment to Sandbox, and enter your credentials (Subscription Key/API User/API Key for MTN, or Client ID/Secret for Airtel).
  5. Pick which order statuses should apply while awaiting confirmation, once paid, and if payment fails — any existing statuses work (e.g. Pending / Processing / Failed).
  6. Optionally paste your license key, save, and place a test order to confirm checkout end to end.
  7. Once confirmed, switch Environment to Production and enter your live credentials.
Airtel Money has not yet been verified against a real Airtel sandbox, on any of the three platforms. MTN has been run end-to-end against MTN's real sandbox on WooCommerce, and the checkout integration itself (order creation, status polling, payment confirmation) has been verified for both providers on all three platforms against a local test double. Airtel's actual request/response field names, against Airtel's real API, remain unconfirmed — test carefully in sandbox before relying on it for real transactions.

Payment is handled by Stripe; right after checkout you get your license key and every download link on the same page. Entering the license key in a plugin's settings is optional and never gates checkout on any platform — it's how you support the project, not a functional requirement.
